Philippians 3:12-14

3:12 Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect; but I press on, if it is so that I may take hold of that for which also I was taken hold of by Christ Jesus. 3:13 Brothers, I don’t regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, 3:14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

  1. You left out 3:10 where Paul says “I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection…” The word “know” is the word ginosko which means “to know intimately.” More than a cursory knowledge. More than a book knowledge. More than a knowledge based on what others have said. A knowledge based on an intimate relationship. I compare it to you knowing my wife vs. me “knowing” my wife. you know about her. i know her. Knowing Christ is more than about Him. It is knowing him from an intimate knowledge.

Funnily enough I nearly put in 3:8-10 but decided against it. Looking again at 3:10 on its own I think you’re right I should post it.
