Matthew 23

An angry chapter, with a few especially good bits:

23:13 Alas for you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You shut the door of the Kingdom of Heaven in people’s faces; you do not enter yourselves, and when others try to enter, you stop them.
23:15 Alas for you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You travel over sea and land to win one convert; and when you have succeeded you make him twice as fit for hell as you are yourselves.

23:25 Alas for you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You clean the outside of a cup or dish, and leave the inside full of greed and self-indulgence! 26 Blind Pharisee! Clean the inside of the cup first; then the outside will be clean also.

23:24 Blind guides! You strain off a midge, yet gulp down a camel!
