Mark 12:10-11

10 “Have you not even read this Scripture:

‘THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED,
THIS BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER stone;
11 THIS CAME ABOUT FROM THE LORD,
AND IT IS MARVELOUS IN OUR EYES’?”

The quotation is from Psalm 118: 22-23.

I can’t say what this means properly, but the first verse is the one that strikes me. I interpret it personally as meaning we never know where we’ll find a friend and conversely, when we’ll be called upon to be friend to someone else. I know that’s a bit of a stretch from the literal word.

    I found your Bible verse today. Ha!! I am really slow sometimes, but I found it. Acts 17:23 …TO AN UNKNOWN GOD…

    Ha!!! It’s all coming to me now, Ivan. Prayed for you today. How are you?

    Dear Heidi

    You prayed for me? Gosh, thank you. What did you say? Am I allowed to ask things like that? I mean I have a technical interest (see What is prayer?).

    I’m well thank you, apart from a stinking cold. Oh, and tired — it’s nearly midnight and I’m just off to bed (TMI?)

    I’ve neglected this blog for a while and I need to come back to it. It’s a treat to give myself some quiet time to read and think and write up a response. I am maybe getting bogged down in details (Greek translations, etc.), when I should perhaps be racing through and just writing about the bits I want to rave about. There are plenty. Actually that was the point of the blog; not analysis.

    Thank you for asking after me. I’ll come over to your place tomorrow.

    Goodnight!

    Ivan: When I pray I talk to God like I’d talk to anyone (with a bit more respect I should add). I figure… He knows what I’m going to say anyway, so why sugar coat it. Ha!! Anyway, today I prayed “Lord please reveal yourself to Ivan in a larger than life undeniable blow his socks off and bulldoze him over kind of way”. So what do you think? I meant every word. You’re seeking and I’m praying He’ll reward your efforts bigger than you can imagine. Sleep well. See you soon.

    That is a very nice prayer, thank you. And very you if I may say so. Maybe I should stop worrying and give it a go.

    What are you worrying about? How to pray? If that’s it, yeah I’d say just give it a go. He knows what you want before you ask, what you need before you need it, what you’re going to say before you say it… sooooooooo… just say it!
