I’m starting a Bible study class next week. I visited the professor giving the class (it’s at a university school of divinity) and asked what I should do to prepare. He said, “read Mark.” Mark was the first gospel to be written, and Matthew and Luke draw a lot from it. So, although it might seem odd to start a read through of the New Testament with the second book, that’s what I’m going to do here.

Why are the gospels ordered the way they are? Surely it can’t just be reverse alphabetical?
